At HCI Chartered Financial Planners we are aware of an increasing number of our clients and their family members who are in need of care themselves or provide some level of unpaid care to an older adult, often a parent who has a level of disability or mobility issues.
We are pleased to now be able to provide access to a new service from our partner, My Care Consultant, an independent care navigation company with whom we have built a good working relationship. This company has a new web-based service called My Care Hub, designed to support carers and those in need of care, and we want to make this service available to clients who could benefit from it.
If you need care or are contemplating the prospect of having to look after an older family member at some future point, My Care Hub provides a huge amount of valuable information about some of the steps you should take now to ensure you receive the most appropriate level of care if you need it yourself. Alternatively, if you are caring or supporting someonein need, you will be well placed to care for that person when the need arises.
My Care Hub highlights both financial and practical support to which you or the person you care for may be entitled. If your own care needs, or those of the person you care for, have increased so that you are now contemplating the difficult decision to seek help from a paid care provider (either at home, in assisted living, or in a care home), MyCare Hub will help you obtain answers to typical questions that arise, including:
- Where can we get the most appropriate care, right now?
- How do we know that it is right for us?
- Who will pay for it? What financial support is available to us?
- If we need to pay for care ourselves, what are our options?
